The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Saturday it completed airstrikes on a military site in southwestern Iran, targeting “missile launchers” and “radar detection systems” used for intelligence gathering. The strikes came shortly before President Donald Trump confirmed a U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear sites.
Trump announced that U.S. forces hit “three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” adding that “a full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.” He claimed, “All planes are safely on their way home,” and called it “an HISTORIC MOMENT” urging Iran to “end this war.”
An Israeli official confirmed the U.S. informed Israel ahead of the strikes. Meanwhile, U.S. B-2 bombers and refueling tankers were seen moving toward Guam, though they reportedly had no further orders.
The State Department began evacuating Americans from Israel, organizing flights from Tel Aviv to Athens for U.S. citizens and their families.
In response, Yemen’s Houthi rebels warned they would target American ships if the U.S. continued attacks on Iran: “The armed forces will target its ships and warships in the Red Sea,” they said.
