Father, mother and son are found…

A tragic accident claimed the lives of an entire family—Hérida Nascimento da Silva, Sebastião Cícero Gomes, and their 3-year-old son, Miguel. The heartbreaking event underscores “the fragility of life and the unpredictability of destiny.”

According to TV Verdes Mares and the Ceará Military Fire Department, the family was traveling from Várzea Alegre to Juazeiro do Norte for a surgery Miguel was scheduled to undergo—a trip that usually takes about an hour.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. near Sítio Piripiri, when their vehicle plunged into a stream. The water’s depth—about 5 meters—made rescue efforts extremely difficult.

What began as a hopeful journey for Miguel’s treatment ended in tragedy, leaving a community in mourning.
