Moment fearless dad jumped into sea to save daughter who fell from Disney cruise ship

A dramatic rescue unfolded on June 29 when a girl fell overboard from the fourth deck of the Disney Dream cruise ship between Florida and the Caribbean. Her father immediately jumped in after her. “On the last day of our Dream voyage… a girl fell overboard… and her dad went in after her,” wrote passenger Kevin Furuta.

A man overboard alert was issued and the ship’s crew acted quickly. Passenger Laura Amador recalled, “They became tiny dots in the sea… then you lost sight of them.” The captain turned the ship around, and a tender boat was launched.

The father stayed with his daughter until rescuers arrived, handing her over first before climbing in himself. Onlookers cheered as they safely returned to the ship. “We commend our Crew Members for their exceptional skills,” Disney Cruises told *USA Today*, noting both were rescued within minutes.

A TikTok video captured the rescue, with some questioning how the girl fell despite safety barriers. Thankfully, both appeared unharmed.

This rare incident highlights cruise safety concerns. While cruise life can seem carefree, accidents can happen—and this father’s quick action likely saved his daughter’s life.
