Donald Trump insists he’s in “excellent health,” backed by an April report from his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella. The report declared Trump “fully fit” to serve, describing his physical and neurological condition as “robust.” At 6’3″ and 224 pounds, Trump passed routine exams, underwent cataract surgery, and had a benign polyp removed. Trump added, “I took a cognitive test… and got every answer right.”
However, some experts question this assessment. Dr. John Gartner, a former Johns Hopkins psychologist, suspects Trump may have frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a condition affecting behavior and movement. Gartner cited videos showing Trump stumbling, struggling with stairs, and using a “leg swing” while walking, calling these signs of possible neurological decline.
Gartner also said a neurologist pointed to Trump’s gait as a potential FTD symptom. Online, some have speculated Trump may wear a catheter, though this remains unverified.
Trump and his team haven’t addressed these claims. For now, Barbabella’s report is the only official update. Still, concerns remain about transparency in evaluating leaders’ health, especially as Trump continues his political career.
