Former President Donald Trump brushed off a disturbing remark from Mohammad-Javad Larijani, adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, who joked on Iranian TV that Trump “can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago” because “a micro-drone might target and strike him right in the navel.” He later added, “Of course, we fight like men.”
In response, Trump told Fox News, “I guess it’s a threat. I’m sure it’s not a threat, actually, but perhaps it is,” downplaying the comment and joking he hasn’t sunbathed since age seven.
The comment came just days after Trump confirmed he would “absolutely” consider bombing Iran again, following U.S. strikes in June on three major Iranian nuclear sites. Trump claimed, “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity.”
In parallel, an Iranian hacker group called ‘Robert’ claims to have stolen 100GB of emails linked to Trump and may sell or leak them. Targets reportedly include Susie Wiles, Roger Stone, and Stormy Daniels.
Security agencies have vowed accountability. “These criminals will be found and brought to justice,” tweeted a U.S. cyberdefense official. Cyberattacks are seen as Iran’s response without provoking further U.S. military retaliation.
