Woman issues terrifying warning after finding a stroller abandoned on the side of the road

A mother is warning the public about a frightening scam involving abandoned baby items. Nancy Walsh, a real estate agent, spotted a lone stroller on a remote, tree-lined road and shared her experience on Facebook: *“If you see a stroller, car seat, or any baby item alone in the middle of nowhere, please don’t get out.”*

Her post, showing photos of the eerie scene, went viral. Many commenters said this setup is part of a scam meant to lure kind strangers out of their cars — only to be robbed, carjacked, or worse. *“It’s bait. Stay in the car, lock the doors, and call for help,”* one user advised.

Although some people said baby gear is sometimes left out for donation, most agreed the risk is too great. Similar scams have involved fake medical emergencies or cries for help to target good Samaritans.

One woman said police had warned her not to approach someone appearing unconscious on the roadside, calling it a likely trap.

Walsh’s post has been shared over 23,000 times. Her key message: *“Call 911 and let the authorities handle it.”* Help others — but do it safely.
