A major accident occurred on November 20 along the Mexico-Querétaro Highway in Huehuetoca, State of Mexico. A trailer truck heading toward Mexico City lost control near the Jorobas intersection and crashed into a bank, five cars, and a pickup. According to officials, “wet road conditions from the day’s rain may have contributed to the accident.”

The crash blocked all three north-south lanes at kilometer 59, causing a partial highway closure and heavy traffic delays. Paramedics treated several people with minor injuries; some were advised to go to a hospital for further checks, though “no serious injuries were reported.”

In a separate incident at kilometer 95.5 near Soyaniquilpan de Juárez, a tanker spilled fuel, prompting full closure of that section of the highway and worsening traffic.

Authorities are still investigating both accidents. Drivers are urged to “exercise caution, especially under adverse weather conditions,” and remember to maintain safe stopping distances on wet roads.
