Dog the Bounty Hunter’s family is mourning after a tragic accident involving his 13-year-old step-grandson, Anthony. On July 19, Anthony was shot and killed in an apartment in Naples, Florida. According to TMZ, police called it an “isolated incident,” and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
The boy’s father, Gregory Zecca—son of Dog’s wife Francie from a previous marriage—is believed to have accidentally fired the gun.
A spokesperson for Duane Chapman (Dog) told TMZ, “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”
Duane and Francie married in 2021 after bonding over the loss of their spouses. Francie said in 2020, “We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way.”
Dog has 13 children from six marriages, including Jon, a son he discovered in 2023.
