My Stepsister Asked Me to Sew Dresses for Her Six Bridesmaids – Then Refused to Pay Me for the Materials and My Work

Amelia, a new mom and skilled seamstress, agrees to help her distant stepsister Jade by sewing six custom bridesmaid dresses. Jade promises to pay well, so Amelia spends \$400 from her baby fund, saying, “I trusted her.” Despite juggling a newborn, Amelia carefully meets every bridesmaid’s request and completes the dresses in time.

When she delivers them, Jade laughs and calls the dresses a “gift,” refusing to pay. Amelia, shocked and heartbroken, stays silent to avoid conflict. At the wedding, guests admire the bridesmaid dresses more than Jade’s pricey gown. Amelia then hears Jade brag, “She’s so easy to use,” confirming she had never intended to pay.

Just before the first dance, Jade’s designer dress rips, exposing her underwear. In panic, she begs Amelia to fix it. Though hurt, Amelia helps her in the bathroom, then asks for honesty—not money.

To Amelia’s surprise, Jade publicly apologizes during her speech, admits to using her, and hands her an envelope with payment and extra for baby Max. Amelia realizes that choosing grace over revenge can still lead to justice.
