ICE Arrests Former Presidential Candidate

**Pierre Reginald Boulos, a Haitian citizen and U.S. permanent resident, was arrested in Miami by ICE** for immigration fraud and suspected ties to Haitian gang Viv Ansanm, labeled a terrorist group. ICE claims Boulos helped “destabilize Haiti,” raising U.S. foreign policy concerns.

Authorities say Boulos failed to reveal key facts during immigration, including his role in founding MTVAyiti, a nationalist political party in Haiti. He’s also under investigation in Haiti for alleged misuse of business loans.

“These omissions constitute immigration fraud and could lead to his deportation,” said an ICE official. “Individuals who gain legal status in the United States must not support or aid criminal or terrorist groups.”

The case is being handled by multiple agencies, including the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

**In a separate case**, ICE re-arrested Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez in Chicago for allegedly hiding a decapitated woman’s body. He had been previously released, sparking questions about ICE’s detention decisions.

Both cases underscore ICE’s focus on individuals who may threaten national security through fraud or criminal ties.
