His body was itchy, he thought it was an allergy

For weeks, 32-year-old Laura Gómez battled intense itching, thinking it was an allergy. She changed soaps, avoided certain foods, and saw a dermatologist. Antihistamines and creams brought no relief. “I felt like something was crawling under my skin. I scratched until I bled,” she recalled.

As her condition worsened, further tests revealed the real cause—a rare autoimmune skin disorder causing extreme itchiness and inflammation. The diagnosis was life-changing, requiring long-term treatment and lifestyle adjustments.

“It’s not easy,” Laura said, “but finally knowing the truth gave me the power to fight back.”

Now receiving proper care, she is learning to cope with the illness, focusing on symptom management and emotional resilience.

Her story serves as a reminder: don’t ignore persistent symptoms. What seems minor could be serious—seek medical help if problems don’t improve.
