Mom and 4 children killed in fiery crash while traveling to see husband

A tragic crash on I-95 in McIntosh County, Georgia, claimed the lives of Reagan Dougan, 29, and her four young children, ages 9, 4, 2, and 3 months. They were traveling to Florida to see the children’s father when their rented SUV struck the back of a white Infiniti at high speed and burst into flames. Georgia State Trooper Christopher Ashdown said, “Seeing how hard the impact was obviously caused the SUV to ignite.” The Infiniti’s driver survived with injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Friends say the trip was meant to be joyful but ended in “unimaginable loss.” Close friend Christopher “Jonesy” Butler-Jones said Reagan’s children were “everything to her” and remembered her as someone who could “make you happy” even on your worst days.

Friend Lindsey Marie expressed her grief: “Tomorrow is never promised. Rest in peace, angel. You have no idea how loved you were.”

A GoFundMe was launched to help Reagan’s husband, Christian Dougan, cover funeral costs and transport his family to their final resting place in Florida. His stepmother wrote, “We cannot even fathom the financial burden this will bring.”

Photographer Katrina Cusatis recalled, “Their love, joy, and connection were truly unforgettable.”
