Rock and roll legend Dave Edmunds, 81, is in intensive care after a severe cardiac arrest at his home in Monmouthshire, Wales. Famous for his 1970 hit *“I Hear You Knocking,”* Edmunds enjoyed a celebrated career as a solo artist and with Rockpile alongside Nick Lowe.
His wife, Cici, shared in a Facebook post that Dave “died in her arms” before being revived by emergency responders. Although medics saved him, he suffered brain damage and memory loss, making his prognosis uncertain. She called his survival a “miracle” but said the coming weeks will be “especially difficult.”
Doctors report he is in critical but stable condition, under close watch for possible complications. Oxygen deprivation may affect his memory, cognition, and mobility, and recovery at his age will be challenging.
