More and more people are d.ying from heart failure, doctors w.arn: No matter how difficult it is, you must give up these 4 habits!

Heart failure is one of the world’s leading causes of death, but experts say many cases are preventable. Doctors warn that “no matter how difficult it may seem, these four habits must be eliminated” to protect heart health.

Excessive Salt Intake
“High sodium intake is one of the most significant contributors to heart failure.” Too much salt raises blood pressure and strains the heart. The WHO advises adults to consume no more than 2,000 mg of sodium daily, but most exceed this through processed foods and snacks.

Sedentary Lifestyle
Spending hours sitting weakens the heart. Exercise improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, and maintains a healthy weight. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity weekly.

Smoking & Alcohol
Smoking damages blood vessels and “reduces the amount of oxygen delivered to the heart.” Excessive alcohol also weakens heart muscles. Cutting back greatly lowers risk.

Stress & Poor Sleep
Chronic stress and lack of rest raise blood pressure and disrupt metabolism. Experts recommend 7–9 hours of quality sleep and stress-reducing practices like mindfulness.
