Patients Reveal the Most Awkward

Doctor visits are usually routine, but Reddit users shared moments that turned “hilariously or shockingly off course.”

One story involved a roommate panicking over blue hands—only to learn it was dye from jeans. Another recalled forgetting underwear during a physical. A nervous athlete even “let out a loud burp during an exam,” sparking laughter.

Not all memories were funny. One person saw two doctors arguing over an X-ray, while others remembered childhood mishaps—from a motorcycle crash exam to a toy piece popping out of a nose at the last second.

Doctors sometimes added to the comedy. An OB-GYN once compared a pelvic exam to “the Grand Canyon,” and another flu patient got a John Cusack compliment.

Misunderstandings also caused chaos: “red stool” blamed on Flaming Hot Cheetos, or someone thinking they had a tongue disorder but only noticing their taste buds. From farting during pregnancy checks to lost hearing aid pieces, these stories show doctor visits as unpredictable, human, and unforgettable.
