Prince Harry has suffered a personal loss with the death of the 8th Marquess of Ailesbury, Michael Brudenell-Bruce, 98. The tragedy happened when he fell from his bedroom window while trying to free his cat, Honeybun.
His longtime partner, Teresa Marshall de Paoli, who found him, said, “It was a freak accident.” He struck his head on a concrete patio and was declared dead at the scene in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.
At first, police treated the case as suspicious but later confirmed it was accidental. The fall occurred late Sunday night, leaving Teresa and his daughter, Lady Kathryn Brudenell Bruce, devastated.
Michael Brudenell-Bruce’s life was notable—he studied at Eton, served as a Royal Horse Guards captain, and later worked as a stockbroker.
