Bruce Willis, 70, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia, has moved into a care home near his family. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, 47, called it “one of the hardest decisions” of her life, but felt it was what Bruce would have wanted for the sake of their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11. He now receives round-the-clock professional care, while the family visits regularly to share meals, watch movies, and spend time together.
Emma explained that Bruce is still physically healthy and mobile, but “it’s just his brain that’s failing him. The language is disappearing.” She said the family has found new ways to communicate with him despite the challenges.
She described his care home as a place “filled with love, warmth, care, and laughter,” where friends continue to bring joy into his life, helping maintain a sense of connection and happiness for Bruce and the family.
