Katie Slaton, cousin of *1000-Lb. Sisters* stars Amy and Tammy, has died at 36 after being diagnosed earlier this year with stage four gastric adenocarcinoma. She passed away on August 25 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

Her cousin Amanda Halterman shared the news on Instagram, writing: *“It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this. My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday… She was the life of the party and my best friend.”* Amanda also asked for prayers for Katie’s children and family, adding: *“Thank you all who has come out and supported her. #cancerscks.”*

Tammy and Amy have not yet spoken publicly, but Tammy previously shared a GoFundMe link for Katie’s treatment, telling fans: *“Our family just found out about her having cancer… any act of kindness is and will be greatly appreciated.”*

Katie, born in Morganfield, Kentucky, loved fishing, music, and family time. Loved ones remember her as *“a force to be reckoned with”* whose light touched everyone.

The American Cancer Society warns stomach cancer could claim nearly 11,000 U.S. lives in 2025, stressing early detection is vital.
