A Man Gets A DNA Test On His Son, Who “Does Not Look Like” Him. When The Results Come Back, The Man’s Wife Gathers The Family.

A woman shared on Reddit how her marriage collapsed after her husband agreed to a DNA test for their son, who his mother claimed “didn’t look like” him. She explained, “For a while now, [my MIL] has been making comments about how my son didn’t look like my husband… Basically accusing me of sleeping around.”

Her biggest pain wasn’t the accusation but her husband’s silence. Instead of defending her, he chose to take the test “to appease his demanding mother.” Feeling betrayed, the woman hired a lawyer, prepared to leave, and said she would not raise her son in a toxic home like the one she grew up in.

When the results arrived, they proved the husband was indeed the father. He sent her the results and promised to confront his mother. But she had already decided: “I was ready to dissolve the marriage.” She served him divorce papers, accusing him of breaking her trust.

His mother refused to apologize, blaming her for “destroying the family.” Later, the husband suggested counseling, admitting he didn’t want to lose his son. The woman said therapy might help but warned that her trust had been permanently damaged.
