Whether family of Charlie Kirk’s murder suspect will be eligible for $1,200,000 reward for turning him in

Charlie Kirk, 31, was assassinated on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Authorities quickly launched a manhunt, with the FBI offering “$100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest” of the suspect. Conservative allies boosted the reward: Alex Bruesewitz added $25,000, Robby Starbuck matched it, and billionaire Bill Ackman pledged $1 million—bringing the total to $1.15 million.

Questions arose when it appeared the suspect’s family might qualify for the payout. Ackman clarified: “Rewards need to be paid even if the recipient is a crook or worse… if Tyler’s father is found to have been involved… civil litigation or criminal prosecution will reverse any unjust compensation.” He later added that Robinson’s family had indicated they would waive any claim.

The FBI confirmed the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. His arrest came after “a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend, who contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with information that Robinson had confessed.”

Governor Spencer Cox revealed chilling Discord messages Robinson sent to his roommate, including details about hiding the rifle, changing outfits, and bullets engraved with messages like “hey fascist” and “catch.”

Cox called the killing “an attack on all of us… on the American experiment.” Kirk’s widow, Erika, vowed to continue his mission, saying: “Most of all Charlie loved his children and he loved me with all of his heart.”
