Neuroscientist reveals what Charlie Kirk would have felt in final moments as footage of shooting is analysed

It’s been nearly a week since far-right activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, 31, was assassinated at Utah Valley University. He was answering a question before over 3,000 people when a single bullet struck his neck.

Neuropsychologist Derek Van Schaik analyzed the footage, explaining, “When someone suffers a catastrophic wound… the mind only has a fleeting window to possibly register what happened.” He concluded Kirk was conscious for “no more than four-tenths of a second… far too fast for his brain to even register what had happened to him.” Van Schaik said Kirk felt “no panic, no dread… only an abrupt blackout.”

Authorities revealed that bullet casings left by suspect Tyler Robinson, 22, carried strange inscriptions such as “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “oh bella ciao bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao.” Others included trolling-style messages like “if you read this you are gay lmao.”

Robinson allegedly sent disturbing texts before and after the attack. FBI Director Kash Patel said, “a text message exchange [showed Robinson] specifically stated that he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do that.”

On Discord, Robinson appeared to admit guilt: “Hey guys, I have bad news… It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all of this.”
