Surgeon who ‘cheered Charlie Kirk’s death’ makes major move as nurse who called him out is reinstated

Following Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10 at Utah Valley University, controversy erupted at Englewood Health in New Jersey after nurse Lexi Kuenzle accused a doctor of celebrating his death.

Kuenzle claims Dr. Matthew Jung said Kirk “had it coming” and “deserved it” in front of staff and patients. Shocked, she reported him, saying: “Speaking up wasn’t optional for me; it was my duty as a nurse to protect patients from that kind of cruelty and to uphold the integrity of our profession.”

The nurse filed a lawsuit against both Jung and the hospital, alleging she was suspended after reporting the incident. She says management later told her she might be fired. Jung allegedly tried to smooth things over by offering to buy lunch for those offended.

Englewood Health disputed parts of her account, insisting: “The nurse was never fired; was never told she would be fired by Englewood Hospital; and will not miss any pay as part of our review of this matter.”

In an update, the hospital confirmed Kuenzle was reinstated, while Dr. Jung resigned. “Englewood Health is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all,” a spokesperson said.
