A state banquet in London featuring Donald and Melania Trump with King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales sparked online debate after a brief moment went viral.

During the meal, Queen Camilla appeared to speak to Melania, but the First Lady did not respond and instead turned to Prince William. Some viewers criticized her, saying, “Melania ignoring her just like she does with Trump.” Another added, “At least be civil-friendly and cheerful, there’s nobody perfect in this world just be kind to everybody.” Others felt sympathy for Camilla, writing, “Poor Camilla, she’s talking to herself.”

But many defended Melania, insisting she wasn’t being rude. One user argued, “Melania was not ignoring Queen Camilla; she was talking to Prince William.” Another added, “They are both obviously talking to the person next to Camilla.”

Donald Trump, seated next to Kate Middleton, praised the royals during his speech, saying: “His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing.” He also called Kate “so radiant and so healthy, and so beautiful.”

The visit also stirred controversy after Melania didn’t curtsy to the King or Queen. However, the royal family’s official website clarifies: “There are no obligatory codes of behaviour when meeting a member of the Royal Family.”
