ABC Shooting: Suspect Targeted Bondi, Patel

A 64-year-old man, Anibal Hernandez-Santana, was arrested after a drive-by shooting outside Sacramento’s ABC 10 station on September 19. No one was injured, but the attack came a day after a protest at the station.

Investigators found a handwritten note in his vehicle referencing public officials like Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino. The Justice Department said the note included language suggesting threats linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Authorities also reviewed his social media, where Hernandez-Santana often criticized Donald Trump and wrote he was ready to “fight like hell,” raising concerns about political motives.

His lawyer, Mark Reichel, argued prosecutors unfairly portrayed him as a “liberal and left wing” extremist, insisting political views should not increase criminal charges. Hernandez-Santana was first released on $200,000 bail but quickly rearrested on federal charges of interfering with licensed broadcasts.

He is now in federal custody while prosecutors review more evidence. FBI Director Kash Patel condemned the incident, stating: “Targeted acts of violence are unacceptable and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.” Federal authorities continue investigating possible accomplices and further threats.
