Discover the power of this miracle fruit

Guava, native to Central America, is a tropical fruit with light green or yellow skin and edible seeds. Both the fruit and leaves are consumed—the fruit often eaten raw, while the leaves are brewed into tea or used as supplements. Known as a “powerhouse of a fruit,” guava is packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants that support overall health.

Research shows guava may “help lower blood sugar levels.” A 2022 study found guava leaf extract improved blood sugar control and insulin resistance, while the fruit itself, with its low glycemic index, prevents spikes.

It also supports heart health. Thanks to potassium, fiber, and antioxidants, guava can regulate blood pressure, cholesterol, and oxidative stress. Studies note guava leaf extract may lower LDL and raise HDL cholesterol.

Guava is rich in dietary fiber, which “helps prevent constipation and aid bowel movement,” making it excellent for digestion. Low in calories but rich in nutrients, it also promotes healthy weight loss.

A single guava offers “more than double the reference daily intake” of vitamin C, strengthening immunity, skin, and vision. Whether eaten raw or brewed into tea, guava is both a tasty and healthy daily choice.
