What Led to Kidman and Urban’s Split

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are reportedly ending their nearly 20-year marriage, surprising fans who saw them as one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples. Sources say they have been living apart since early summer, with Urban moving into his own Nashville home while Kidman focuses on their daughters, Sunday and Faith.

According to Radar Online, “the decision came from Urban, leaving Kidman blindsided.” Insiders note their struggles worsened after Kidman’s mother died last September, with grief and long separations straining their relationship. Kidman has spent more time in London, while Urban remained in the U.S.

Career pressures may have also played a role. Reports suggest Urban was uncomfortable with Kidman’s busy filming schedule and her on-screen romances with younger co-stars. In July, when asked about her intimate scenes, Urban “declined to comment,” fueling rumors of jealousy.

Neither has confirmed the split publicly, but sources say a mix of “grief, distance, and career pressures” ultimately pulled them apart.

Fans have shared sadness online, remembering their red-carpet affection. As divorce proceedings move forward, both stars are said to remain committed to co-parenting their daughters with love and stability.
