Disgraced rapper Diddy has been sentenced

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced on October 3, 2025, following convictions related to prostitution. Judge Arun Subramanian handed down a 50-month sentence and a $500,000 fine, emphasizing that “the severity of his crimes could not be overlooked,” despite Combs’ troubled past and struggles with addiction.

Combs was convicted on transportation-for-prostitution charges but acquitted of more serious allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering. The judge noted that accountability was crucial, stating that Combs “abused his power and control over women.”

In court, Diddy tearfully apologized, calling his actions “disgusting, shameful, and sick.” He expressed remorse for the pain caused to his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and another victim known as “Jane.” “I have been humbled and broken to my core,” he said, pledging to focus on rebuilding relationships with his children and community.

His defense highlighted his difficult upbringing and addiction struggles, arguing these factors contributed to his behavior. However, the prosecution stressed the courage of the victims in speaking out and the harm caused by Combs’ actions.

As Combs begins his prison term, the case marks a dramatic fall from grace for the once-celebrated hip-hop mogul, underscoring the consequences of abuse and exploitation.
