Tragic: Fox News Contributor Dies Following Hidden Battle With Cancer

Dr. Kelly Powers, a Fox News medical contributor and surgeon, has died at 45 after a battle with glioblastoma, “an aggressive form of brain cancer.” She passed away Sunday in New Jersey, according to Holmdel Funeral Home.

Born on May 13, 1979, in Yonkers, Powers built a remarkable career in medicine and media. She studied at Baruch College, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and the University of San Francisco, completing residencies at Georgetown and Boston University. Known for her “expertise and empathy,” she became a trusted voice on networks like Fox News, CNN, and CBS.

Powers was diagnosed in 2020 after collapsing during a live segment—an event she described as “unreal.” Despite three brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, she defied the odds and welcomed her son, Bennett, calling herself “the luckiest unlucky girl.”

When her cancer returned in 2024, friends raised nearly $100,000 for experimental treatment. Her obituary described her as “a brave and beautiful soul.”

She is survived by her husband, Steven Doll, and son, Bennett. Visitation will be held Thursday, with a funeral service Friday at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank, NJ. Her courage and compassion continue to inspire many.
