When Calls The Heart star dies ‘suddenly at home’ at the age of 53

Nathaniel “Nate” Pelletier, a beloved member of Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart team, passed away suddenly at age 53 on April 11 at his home in Langley, British Columbia.

Though he appeared on-screen as a taxi driver in several episodes, Nate was best known behind the scenes as part of the show’s transportation department, where he “was responsible for caring for and driving the show’s old-fashioned vehicles.”

His death shocked both fans and cast members, who remembered him as kind and hardworking.

Actor Martin Cummins, who plays Henry Gowen, shared a touching tribute: “I just came back from a ride on the bike Gord and Nate put together for the girls and I’m taking shade in Mexico under the awning Nate helped me figure out in the woods near the old cabin.”

Nate’s contribution to the series went beyond his role — he was cherished as a friend and part of the show’s family.
