Kiss Legend Ace Frehley Shared A Final Instagram Photo Days Before His Passing

Ace Frehley, the legendary KISS guitarist known as “Spaceman,” passed away peacefully at age 74 in his Morristown, New Jersey home after a recent fall and brain injury. His family confirmed he was surrounded by loved ones. “Rest in peace, Spaceman🚀,” the family’s post read.

Days before his death, Frehley canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour due to health issues. On September 24, he shared what became his final Instagram photo — a backstage moment from his “10,000 Volts Tour.” Smiling beside a young fan holding a painting inspired by his song “Rip It Out,” fans later commented, “Ace looks so happy,” and “I hope Ace is ok!!!”

After news of his death, the post turned into a global tribute wall. “Forever the last fan photo of Ace. RIP!” one fan wrote, while another said, “Thanks for all Ace, Rest in Peace Our Spaceman.”

Frehley’s September Facebook post had mentioned a fall in his studio, saying he was “doing well” but under doctor’s orders not to travel. The later tour cancellation became a silent farewell few recognized at the time.

Bandmate Peter Criss mourned him deeply, calling Frehley his “brother” and ending his message simply: “Broken.”
