Dallas Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland’s Girlfriend Reportedly Called Police Hours Before His Death

The football world is mourning the loss of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who tragically passed away at just 24 years old. Only two days earlier, he had celebrated his first NFL touchdown, a milestone that now feels heartbreakingly bittersweet.

Authorities confirmed that Kneeland was found deceased on November 5, 2025, in Frisco, Texas, after police responded to an emergency call from his girlfriend, Catalina, who was worried for his safety. His crashed vehicle was discovered nearby, and the search ended in tragedy. The case remains under investigation.

The Cowboys expressed “extreme sadness,” offering condolences to his family and describing Kneeland as “a bright, positive presence both on and off the field.”

Drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan University, Kneeland was admired for his dedication and humility. “Marshawn made people better — on the field and in life,” said his former college coach.

Tributes continue to pour in from across the league. Fans and teammates remember him not just as a talented athlete, but as a symbol of perseverance, kindness, and grace — a reminder of the importance of compassion and mental health in sports.
