How to Make Your Glass Stovetop Look Brand New Again

Keeping a glass stovetop spotless doesn’t require harsh chemicals or expensive cleaners. A few household items — baking soda, vinegar, dish soap, a towel, and a soft sponge — can make it shine again safely and easily.

Start by filling a spray bottle with vinegar and misting it over the stovetop. As the article explains, “The natural acidity helps dissolve stubborn grease and soften stuck-on food.” Then sprinkle baking soda across the surface; it’s a gentle abrasive that removes stains without scratching.

Next, soak a towel in hot, soapy water, wring it out, and lay it over the stovetop for about 15–20 minutes to loosen grime. Afterward, remove the towel and gently scrub with a soft sponge or brush. For tough spots, repeat or add more baking soda — but “avoid using steel wool or harsh pads, which can scratch the glass.”

Finally, spray another light mist of vinegar and wipe with a microfiber cloth to remove streaks and leave a glossy finish.

This simple, low-cost routine keeps your stovetop “looking like new.” Regular cleaning prevents buildup, ensures hygiene, and keeps your kitchen bright and ready for cooking.
