Just one spoon and you’ll run to the bathroom

Many people look for gentle ways to ease constipation, especially when that heavy, blocked feeling won’t go away. A simple home remedy made from two natural ingredients is often recommended because it works “without chemicals or harsh side effects.” It’s quick to prepare and may offer the relief you need.

The remedy uses extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Olive oil acts as a natural lubricant, helping stool pass more easily, while lemon juice gives “a little cleansing boost” that supports digestion. Together, they help soften hardened waste and encourage your system to start moving again.

To make it, mix “one tablespoon of olive oil with one tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice” in a small glass. Some people add warm water if they prefer a lighter texture. It takes only a few seconds to prepare.

Most people find it works best on an empty stomach. Drinking it early in the morning can help because the digestive system is still slow and absorbs the mixture quickly. Others take it before bed and let it work overnight, depending on what fits their routine.

Once you drink it, the olive oil coats the intestines, helping stool move through more smoothly. The lemon juice provides gentle acidity that supports bile production and helps your body break down fats and stubborn materials that can slow digestion. For many, mixing these two simple ingredients offers a natural and easy option for relief.
