911 Dispatch Audio Captures Tense Call From Firefighter at Rob Reiner’s House – Details

The 911 call revelation comes amid another development in the case, which reveals that someone is being questioned by the authorities.

Rob Reiner, the acclaimed filmmaker behind classics like “When Harry Met Sally…” and “Stand by Me,” has tragically passed away alongside his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

The couple was found dead on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence over the weekend, sending shockwaves through Hollywood and beyond.

Daughter’s Shocking Discovery Triggers Police Investigation
Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy Reiner, made the devastating discovery, according to multiple sources who spoke with People. Authorities have since confirmed that both Rob and Michele suffered fatal injuries, describing wounds consistent with a knife.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Robbery-Homicide Division has launched a full investigation, though they have not yet named a suspect.

Rob, who was 78, and Michele, who was 68, had spent more than three decades building a life together, and raised three children — Jake, Romy, and Nick Reiner. Rob also shared a daughter, Tracy Reiner, from his first marriage to the late director Penny Marshall.

From ‘Meathead’ to Master Director: A Legacy Cut Short
A second-generation Hollywood icon, Rob carved out a career that was both prolific and deeply influential. The son of late comedy legend Carl Reiner, who passed away in 2020, Rob began in show business as a writer in the 1960s, working alongside Steve Martin on “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.”

But it was his role as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the groundbreaking sitcom “All in the Family” that catapulted him into national fame.

His performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor and helped define a new era of television, one where comedy tackled social and political issues with honesty and edge.

By the early 1980s, Rob had shifted his focus to directing, launching a second act that would eventually eclipse the first. His debut hit, “This Is Spinal Tap,” quickly became a cult classic, and what followed was a string of iconic films that left an indelible mark on cinema.

From the coming-of-age drama “Stand By Me” to the timeless fairytale “The Princess Bride,” and, of course, the rom-com masterpiece “When Harry Met Sally…” Rob seemed to have an unmatched instinct for storytelling that resonated across generations.

It was on the set of “When Harry Met Sally…” that he met Michele, a photographer with an eye for quiet beauty and emotional depth. Their bond was immediate.

In fact, their connection was so profound that Rob reportedly rewrote the ending of the film — changing it to a romantic union between Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan’s characters — after falling in love with Michele during production. The couple married in 1989 and remained together for over 35 years.

Rob continued to direct major studio films like “Misery,” “A Few Good Men,” “The American President,” “The Bucket List,” and the recent “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”

In later years, Rob found new generations of fans through guest roles on series like “New Girl,” where he played Jess’ father Bob, and “The Bear,” where he appeared in the fourth season as businessman Albert Schnur.

According to IMDb, his final completed project — a concert film chronicling the fictional band Spinal Tap’s epic Stonehenge performance — is still scheduled for release next year (2026).

911 Audio Reveals the Moment a First Responder Called for Backup
While many continue to grapple with the critically acclaimed director and his wife’s deaths, new developments have begun to cast a shadow over the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Among the most chilling details to emerge is the release of dispatch audio captured in the moments following the discovery at the Reiners’ Brentwood estate.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, a firefighter at the scene placed a call for backup. The dispatch audio — brief but tense — records the responder’s voice requesting the additional support at the residence.
