Tragic Plane Crash Claims NASCAR Star Greg Biffle and Loved Ones — Families Speak Out

The families of those who died in last Thursday’s plane crash released a joint statement, marking their first public words since the tragedy. Shared by Fox Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, the message reflects their sorrow while expressing gratitude for “the overwhelming support they have received from friends, fans, and the broader motorsports community.”

Greg Biffle, retired NASCAR driver, and his wife Cristina were described as “deeply devoted parents whose lives centered on their children.” The statement highlighted their children’s qualities: five-year-old Ryder’s “curiosity, energy, and joy” and 14-year-old Emma’s “kind-hearted, thoughtful, and full of compassion.” The families emphasized that “the love Greg and Cristina shared for their children was evident in every part of their lives.”

The statement confirmed the identities of three others: Dennis Dutton and his son Jack, remembered as “beloved family members whose presence brought strength and closeness,” and Craig Wadsworth, a respected figure in the NASCAR community admired for “his professional contributions but also for his character and generosity.”

Authorities reported the Cessna C550 crashed while attempting to land at Statesville Regional Airport amid challenging weather. The plane had departed earlier that day en route to Florida. Investigators continue examining the circumstances, though no final conclusions have been released.

In closing, the families requested privacy as they mourn and support one another. They expressed hope that “the legacy of love, family, and kindness left behind will endure long beyond this tragedy.”
