An Emirates flight from Thiruvananthapuram, India, made a dramatic crash landing at Dubai International Airport, but all 300 people on board survived. The aircraft, carrying 282 passengers and 18 crew members, encountered trouble during landing around 12:45 p.m. after the pilot reported issues with the landing gear.

The plane skidded along the runway and caught fire, sending thick smoke across the airport. Emergency crews rushed in and evacuated passengers within minutes. Officials said the quick response by the crew and rescuers prevented a larger disaster.

Ten people were treated for minor injuries related to smoke inhalation. One firefighter was killed while battling the blaze. Authorities praised his actions as “heroic and selfless,” noting that his sacrifice helped protect everyone on board and nearby airport facilities.

Early investigations indicate that wind shear may have contributed to the crash landing. Aviation experts emphasized that the crew’s calm response played a critical role in saving lives.

Emirates thanked first responders and expressed condolences to the firefighter’s family, calling the outcome “a miracle of training and composure.”
