Got old VHS tapes gathering dust—on a shelf, in the attic, wherever? Don’t toss them just yet. Some of those tapes might actually be worth serious money.
These days, movies often get tweaked for re-releases, but plenty of fans swear by the original theatrical cuts—and they’ll pay for them. That’s why certain VHS tapes pop up on eBay with wild price tags, like a Beauty and the Beast tape listed for $9,999. The original release didn’t include the song “Human Again,” which was cut for time and only added back in the 2002 special edition.
Disney tapes can be especially valuable. According to Reddit user Reddit_Executive, some original VHS and Betamax releases feature a black diamond logo with Walt Disney’s signature on the spine—a detail collectors are willing to pay big for.
