Lauren Cohen, a mother of three, made headlines when she gave birth to twins at the age of 60. In 2002, she met Frank Garcia, 20 years her junior, at a dance class in New Jersey. They married in 2002 and wanted to start a family. However, doctors were hesitant due to Lauren’s age. After several unsuccessful attempts, a New Jersey doctor agreed to help, and their first daughter, Raquel, was born through in vitro fertilization in 2004.
Just a year later, Lauren discovered she was pregnant with twins, Gregory and Giselle. On May 22, 2006, just before her 60th birthday, she gave birth to them through in vitro fertilization with donor eggs. Lauren became the oldest mother of twins in the United States at 60. She has been committed to staying healthy to watch her kids graduate from college, doing pilates, yoga, and taking numerous supplements.
Though she faces challenges as an older mother, Lauren remains determined to support her children’s journey. She said, “I’ll do whatever it takes to live as long as I can. I’ve set a target of seeing them through college. I’ve got to keep going for 17 years – until I’m 81.”
