It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of this legendary actor

Ángel Salazar, best known for playing Chi Chi in *Scarface*, has died at 68. Salazar, who portrayed Al Pacino’s loyal sidekick in the 1983 cult classic, passed away in his sleep at a friend’s Brooklyn home, according to his agent Ann Wingsong. Though the cause of death wasn’t disclosed, Salazar reportedly had heart problems.

Salazar’s career extended beyond *Scarface*, where his character famously saved Tony Montana’s life in the intense “chainsaw scene.” He later appeared in films like *Punchline* with Tom Hanks and *Carlito’s Way*, reuniting with Pacino and director Brian DePalma.

Known for his catchphrase “Sheck it out,” Salazar was also a stand-up comedian featured on *Last Comic Standing* and HBO specials. His final roles were in *The Black Ceaser* and *The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie* in 2022 and 2023.
