Delaney Krings, a 4-year-old from Pewaukee, Wisconsin, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in October 2022. Her journey began with ear pain, but despite early treatments, her condition worsened. Tests at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin revealed she had a diffuse midline glioma (DMG), an aggressive brain tumor with little hope of treatment.
Her family decided to make her last birthday, when she turned five, special. They collected cards and organized a surprise party, and the response was overwhelming. Heather Krings, Delaney’s mother, expressed, “I think 400 cards were mailed today.” A birthday procession with 500 trucks added to the celebration.
Sadly, Delaney passed away on January 28, 2023. Her mother shared, “Our little angel baby now has wings.” A GoFundMe campaign supports the Krings family, stating, “Like a flower whose beauty we only see for a short time, we all treasured every day of Delaney’s 1,869 days on earth.”
Delaney’s story inspired kindness worldwide. Her mother hopes her story spreads love and courage. Despite the heartbreak, Delaney’s legacy remains, touching lives across the globe.
