Munsters Marilyn Photo

On *The Munsters* (1964-66), Marilyn Munster, Lily’s niece, is the “odd one out” in the family. Unlike her grotesque relatives, Marilyn is a “gorgeous young woman,” but in the Munster household, she’s considered a freak because of her normal appearance.

Originally, Marilyn was portrayed by Beverley Owen. However, starting from the 14th episode of the first season, Pat Priest took over the role. Interestingly, the Munsters didn’t seem to notice the change in their “leggy blonde niece.” Both actresses, according to the Munsters’ twisted standards, were considered “unattractive and hard to look at.”

This irony plays a central role in the humor of the show, highlighting how beauty can be perceived differently depending on one’s perspective.
