While many netizens deemed Blue Ivy’s movie premiere ensemble inappropriate for her age, others found nothing wrong with what she wore, as they praised her appearance.
Looking beautiful and all-grown-up, the daughter of iconic performers Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Jay-Z Carter was spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of “Wicked,” which took place on November 9. Drawing inspiration from the signature color of one of the main characters in the film, Blue Ivy Carter donned a pink gown that not everyone felt was age-appropriate.
Dubbed the “Persephone” online, the 12-year-old’s “rose shadow strapless corset maxi dress” is designed by London-based fashion company House of CB.
The $280.88 (£219) ankle-length garment is inspired by the Grecian Goddess of the Underworld and is made from luxe satin and stretch-crepe fabric.
Standout features of the gown include its sculpted and fitted bodice, peaked neckline, and draped detailing. The lower half of the garment showcases a wrap-around silky skirt that begins at the hips and elongates toward the floor, “creating a silhouette that’s nothing short of ethereal.”
The pastel pink column gown is also easy to slip on and off, with its barely visible zip sewn into the back of the dress.
Completing her elegant look, Blue Ivy paired the garment with eye-catching metallic, heeled sandals, and accessorized with gold jewelry, that included layered necklaces and a few bracelets. She also carried a pink bag and left her dark-colored goddess braids hanging loosely over one shoulder and down her back.
