Eleanor contacted Grace Adoption Services and spoke to Samantha, who suggested a meeting. Eleanor eagerly agreed, feeling hopeful for the first time in years. During the meeting, Samantha explained that it was important for children to be adopted into a two-parent household. Eleanor promised to discuss the adoption with Joseph, despite their separation.
Eleanor and Charlotte met at a park, and a bond quickly formed between them. As they spent more time together, Eleanor prepared her home for Charlotte. She finally called Joseph to share the news, and he was supportive. “I can see this means a lot to you. It’s good to see you so alive again,” he said.

Just as everything seemed to be falling into place, Samantha called with shocking news: Charlotte’s biological mother claimed that Joseph was Charlotte’s father. Confronting Joseph, he admitted to a brief affair but agreed to a paternity test. The test results revealed Joseph was not Charlotte’s father, allowing the adoption to proceed.
Eleanor and Joseph decided to rebuild their relationship, providing Charlotte with a loving home. Eleanor saw Charlotte’s resemblance to Ava as a second chance for her family, determined to cherish every moment.
