Angelina Jolie revealed that her “best sex” experience was during the filming of The Bone Collector (1999) with co-star Denzel Washington. The thriller follows Jolie’s character, cop Amelia Donaghy, and Washington’s Lincoln Rhyme, a quadriplegic forensics expert, as they work together to catch a serial killer.

Due to Lincoln’s paralysis, the on-screen romance had to rely on emotional and intellectual intimacy rather than physical connection. Reflecting on this, Jolie said, “It was great seducing someone with your mind, a huge turn-on.”

Jolie described a memorable scene where Amelia uses smell and intellect to seduce Lincoln, calling it the “best sex I ever had.” She praised the film for exploring a deep, non-traditional bond: “What’s fascinating are the journeys these two characters undertake, and the deep relationship that evolves between them.”

However, the experience of shooting was challenging for Jolie. She admitted it was a “really lonely” process that made her doubt her abilities. “From the beginning, I felt as if I was not capable of doing this… of saving a life and being a cop,” she said, adding that her character’s instability “nearly drove me insane.”

While The Bone Collector was commercially successful, it received mixed reviews, holding a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes despite praise for Jolie and Washington’s performances.
