José de la Torre, the beloved Spanish actor known for his role in Netflix’s Toy Boy, passed away on December 5, 2024, at just 37 years old. Diagnosed with a serious illness in June, he stepped away from the spotlight to focus on treatment. Friends and colleagues shared heartfelt tributes following his untimely death.

Spanish actress Luisa Martín expressed her sorrow on Instagram, posting a photo of De la Torre and writing, “Fly as high as you know 💫. You are light, a very bright light ✨ that will illuminate us all.” Actress and singer Lolita Flores also shared her grief, reflecting, “How hard it is for me to accept that you are gone… heaven awaits you with open arms.”

De la Torre’s career began with no formal acting experience. “The first time I recited a text in front of an audience was for the entrance exams… but I felt as if I had been doing it all my life,” he once recalled. His dedication and natural talent led to roles in Amar es para siempre and Vis a Vis: El Oasis.

Reflecting on his craft, De la Torre said, “Hard work, dedication, and effort” define success in acting. His passion and commitment left a lasting impact, and his passing is deeply felt by fans and peers alike.
