Climate Scientist Warns ‘The Worst Is Yet To Come’ As Winds Gain Speed Causing Aircrafts to Ground and Buildings Continuing to Burn in Palisades Fire

Following the recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, climate scientists warn that “the worst is still to come.” High winds, with gusts reaching 80-100 mph in some areas, have fueled the fires, causing widespread destruction and halting aircraft operations.

Firefighters have been working tirelessly to control the flames, which have already destroyed an estimated 1,000 structures. Thousands of residents have been evacuated, with California’s governor declaring a state of emergency following reports of two fatalities.

Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that officials are closely monitoring conditions to determine when it might be safe to resume air travel. However, strong winds have also disrupted several rescue and relief efforts.

The worsening situation is compounded by water shortages, further hindering firefighting and evacuation measures. Officials remain vigilant as they tackle this ongoing crisis.
