ABC’s David Muir faced backlash during live coverage of the Los Angeles wildfires after viewers noticed two wooden clothespins adjusting his flame-retardant jacket. Critics accused him of prioritizing appearance over the tragedy, with Jack Osbourne joining the debate on social media. Reports clarified the pins were a last-minute fix for high winds added by a producer.

The wildfires, fueled by 100 mph winds, scorched 42 square miles and forced over 130,000 people to evacuate. Muir, recognized for his polished reporting, later appeared without the pins as conditions improved.
