Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donald Trump and his family for their tragic loss

Lou Dobbs, a prominent political analyst, has passed away at 78. Known for his roles at CNN and Fox News, Dobbs was a polarizing figure, particularly for his remarks on Barack Obama.

Former President Donald Trump called him “an incredible talent” and “a truly amazing reporter,” adding, “Lou was unique, and he loved our nation.” Fox News Media praised him as “an amazing businessman with a gift for broadcasting.” Dobbs is survived by his wife, Debi, and their six children.

Dobbs started his career at KBLU radio in Arizona before transitioning to television in the 1970s, joining NBC’s King-TV in Seattle. He became one of CNN’s first reporters in 1980, hosting Moneyline.

His controversial coverage of illegal immigration led to his CNN departure in 2009. In 2010, he joined Fox Business, hosting Lou Dobbs Tonight until its cancellation in 2021.
