College student has fatal reaction to brownie she got from friend

Hannah Glass, a 19-year-old freshman from Wisconsin, tragically died from a severe allergic reaction after eating a brownie with roasted peanut flour. Known for her bright spirit, she had just celebrated her birthday two days earlier.

On November 5, after taking a second bite, she developed vomiting and hives. Despite taking Benadryl, her condition escalated into anaphylaxis. Her parents, living 45 minutes away, rushed to her dorm but arrived too late.

Hannah collapsed before her EpiPen could be used, suffering brain damage after her heart stopped for four minutes. Her story underscores the serious risks of severe food allergies.
