After 2,000 years, this is what Jesus REALLY looked like.

For centuries, Western art has depicted Jesus with fair features, towering stature, and European traits. However, historians argue he likely resembled locals of ancient Palestine: shorter, stockier, with dark curly hair. Using AI, artist Bas Uterwijk created a historically informed image, blending cultural depictions to reflect a Middle Eastern appearance. Researcher Joan Taylor supports this view, describing Jesus with dark olive skin, short black hair, and a beard, emphasizing he was “very much of his time and place.” Historical evidence suggests Jesus led a humble life, challenging traditional portrayals and offering a more authentic glimpse of his appearance.
